Hands off my luggage but I need help with my baggage

I picked up a young woman on 400 west and about 300 North. These are newer apartments and mostly known as areas where people are partying and enjoying their best single life outside the constraints of the gospel. The young lady came out of the apartments and she just didn’t seem to have the same feel as the people I drop off at that place most of the time.

Usually I get out and help people with their luggage but with her I felt like I needed to pop the hatch and offer rather than just take it upon myself to grab a bag. She said that she would put it in and that would be OK.

When she got in I told her that I have traveled a lot in my life and I hate it when people touch my luggage. I told her that I hate it when a driver has been blowing his nose and then grabs my bag.

She said I agree with that, I hate that, what’s wrong with people. We laughed at the thing we had found in common, Germophobia. We talked about hand sanitizer and how for 30 years I’ve been wiping down my seat on the airplane, my rental car steering wheel, gearshift windows everything. I mentioned that I even wipe down the radio in my rental cars. She laughed and said she did the same. Then I told her when I get to my hotel rooms I wipe down the remote controls, the door knobs, the light switches, the thermostat and pretty much anything I touch including the toilet handle.

She laughed and said you would think people would’ve learned better but it seems that people don’t understand. I said that is correct and we chuckled

Then the Spirit directed me to a line of discussion that came off of this topic that I believe was guided in the first place.

I told her, I get the impression that you’ve been marginalized, made fun of and kind of pushed aside in your way of thinking. Other people have done this to you and it’s made it so that you feel ostracized a bit.

This was a beautiful young woman and I would’ve had no other reason to say that except for the spirit prompting me. I told her that furthermore I believe that she has other gifts, abilities and talents that she’s hiding because of the fear of the shame that’s been heaped on her.

She said, how do you know this, you’re going to make me cry. I said that I am a member of the church and when we’re baptized we get the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost prompted us what to say and do. I said that I felt prompted by the spirit to say these things to her and tell her that God loves her.

I felt prompted to tell her that not only did God love her but he didn’t want her to hide the light that she had inside that was bursting to get out.

I looked at where I was with regards to the airport (which was our destination) and realized I needed to get with it. I told her that she was a daughter of God and that he loved her and that her relationship with him was the most central thing in her life. I said that she had lived with him for thousands of years and she craved that feeling. I told her that when when she came to earth she didn’t feel that anymore She blurted out the word yes! She said that’s exactly right.

I told her that her father in heaven loved her and he had given her these gifts so that she could bless other people. She said that she was going through a tough time right now trying to decide what to do in her life and that she was sure that I was sent to help her with that today. I told her that regardless of which way she decided to go in her life, God wanted her to use her gifts and blessings to help other people one on one.

I told her that her experiences had given her a rich sense of empathy and that she would have the ability to touch and lift other people, one on one.

She said, like you’re doing with me today.? I said yes. God gives us these gifts so that we can help other people. She said she was going to cry and I could see the tears welling up in her eyes. She said she prayed all the time every day that God would help her and that this is the first sign that he had heard he prayers.

I asked her what she felt and she said amazing. I said that’s how you felt in the presence of God. I said he gives us this feeling so that we can know when we are hearing the truth. He gives us this feeling so that he can testify of that truth.

She said that is awesome. I said that when we’re baptized we are clean we get the gift of the Holy Ghost to go with us and to tell us the things to say. It helps us know the things we should do. I talked to her more about how the spirit felt to her. I said that God had sent his spirit to show his love. She said yes, I believes that.

I told her God also sends that spirit to testify. I asked her if the things I was saying were false, would the spirit still be here? She said no. That feeling is helping me know the things you’re saying are true.

I told her that she had been focusing on the things in her life that were negative. I told her that she had been thinking about how she had been treated poorly and that this had made it so that she wasn’t acting like she wanted to and the way she knew the lord wanted her to. She said yes that’s right.

I told her that this is where we have to look to Jesus Christ. I told her that because of the atonement of Jesus Christ he can swallow up all the pain, hurt, injustice, infirmity, unfairness and sin in the world so that we do not have to suffer the effects if we will look to him to heal our soul, heart and our mind. She started crying overtly.

I told her that God doesn’t look at life like we do. He doesn’t take away from one person to give to another because he wants us all to have everything. I said that the way Jesus works is he comes in and sees us differently. It is like five glasses at different levels. To make them equal rather than take from one to put in another, he just fills them all. She said so God fills us full. I said yes. I said God loves everyone and regardless of our circumstance he will give us everything he has if we do our part. We will all have a full glass.

She said, this is awesome do you have a podcast? I said laughed and said no but I have a blog and I pointed her to the blog. I said in that blog I talk about when God puts people in my car to receive a message. She said, just like he put me in your car today to receive this message. I said yes!

I asked her if she had friends who were members of the church and she said yes. I asked her if she would go to them and tell them what she had heard and felt that day. She said she felt like she shouldn’t because they weren’t people who obeyed the tenants of the religion very closely.

She asked me if when she got back from her trip if she could reach out to me and I said yes. She said I have never felt like I feel in this car today. It’s an amazing feeling and I want to have this power with me.

She said that she would be in touch and with a huge smile on her face turned and went into the airport

Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.
